May 31, 2009

It is hard to believe that it has been 6 years since Knit Your Dreams opened.  I have met so many interesting people and seen a lot of beautiful knitting.
There are several knit-a-longs and crochet-a-longs happening.  Afghans, cable scarves, socks, and sweaters are being made by different groups.  There is even a group for those of us who have too many projects on the needles and just need to FINISH them.  If you would like to participate in any of these groups this summer, call for more information.
We have lots of new yarn.  DK and sock weight cotton blends from Kraemer Yarns which are made in the USA.  Regia sock yarns.  Lovely Bamboo Splash for summer tops and scarves, and a new wool acrylic blend in worsted weight.         Itty Bitty Scissors have arrived.  Slipper sole fabric is in.  A new hand lotion will be arriving soon.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION:
Highway 104 / Broadway is being resurfaced this summer.  It is possible that the corner of 66th Street may be blocked at times.  Here is a map of the neighborhood so you can avoid 66th and Broadway if they are working.

April 12th, 2009

There have been lots of new knitters and crocheters this winter and they are all doing beautifully.  Socks have been very popular.  There is a group that is having fun knitting the different socks in The Eclectic Sole.  It looks like Sock Innovations will be just as popular.  Lots of new sock yarns have arrived that are perfect for the patterns.

The Tech Knit Square afghans are coming along nicely.

New patterns, books, yarns, and notions come in every week.  Continuous Cables has been very popular.  The Knit Lights are very handy for those of us who can never be away from our knitting.  The Addi Clicks arrived and we sold out in less than 24 hours.  More are already on order.

Project Assistance Policy:

Assistance will be given depending on how busy the shop is.  If you need help on a project, please call ahead to make sure you won’t be interrupting a class.  If the yarn you are using for a project was not purchased at Knit Your Dreams, there will be a $5.00 fee for assistance.  If I need to spend a lengthy amount of time helping you (over 30 minutes), there may be a $5.00 fee charged per hour, regardless of where the yarn was purchased.
